Chi Nei Tsang

(Abdominal Organ Pressure)

Chi Nei Tsang literally translates to “internal organs chi transformation.”

Developed by the White Cloud Taoist Monks in ancient China, Chi Nei Tsang is a holistic approach to the healing touch modality. It integrates the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of our being.

CNT is deep manipulation of the internal organs, using both hands and applied pressure on the abdominal area. It goes to the very origin of health problems, including psychosomatic and emotional responses. CNT practitioners work mainly on the abdomen with deep, soft, and gentle touches, to encourage internal organs to work more efficiently.

Unprocessed emotional charges are also addressed in this manner, as well as all of the body systems: digestive, respiratory, cardiovascular, lymphatic, nervous, endocrine, urinary, reproductive, muscular-skeletal, and acupuncture meridian system (Chi).

It is a holistic healing approach that applies the Taoist concept of Five Elements -- Fire, Water, Earth, Wood, and Metal -- as they relate to our internal organs and the way chi flows through them, to address our whole being. By moving the chi or "life force energy," negative energies and blockages are released -- freeing you up to physical, emotional, and spiritual health.

What are the benefits of Chi Nei Tsang?

CNT helps us get to the root of deep, emotional issues that often are residing in our organs. The practice helps us to listen to our somatic communication, allowing us to feel and move through certain emotions that often lay hidden in places within ignored or unheard areas.

Mentally, the pressure of healing touch around the stomach organs helps our awareness of the connections of the body, mind, emotions, and spirit. Through the release and assisted fluidity within the organs, we can relieve stress, sleep better, feel more at ease, and create more mental peace and space.

Physically, CNT addresses the flow of energy and vitality surrounding the gut area allowing it to support the rest of the body as an integrated system. It helps detoxify the body by reducing stagnation, increasing elimination, improving digestion, and encouraging lymphatic drainage. CNT allows the recipient to draw deeper diaphragmatic breaths and creates physically more space for fluids, particles, and energy to flow in the area.

The Gut-Brain Connection

Have you ever had a "gut-wrenching" experience? Do certain situations make you "feel nauseous"? Have you ever felt "butterflies" in your stomach? Or ever been told to “go with your gut”? We use these expressions for a reason. The gastrointestinal tract is sensitive to emotion. Anger, anxiety, sadness, joy — all of these feelings (and others) can trigger symptoms in the gut.

The brain has a direct effect on the stomach and intestines. For example, the thought of eating can release the stomach's juices before food gets there. This connection goes both ways. A troubled intestine can send signals to the brain, just as a troubled brain can send signals to the gut. Therefore, a person's stomach or intestinal distress can be the cause or the product of anxiety, stress, or depression. That's because the brain and the gastrointestinal (GI) system are intimately connected.

Scientists call your stomach the “second brain,” also knows as the enteric nervous system (ENS). The ENS is two thin layers of more than 100 million nerve cells lining your gastrointestinal tract from the esophagus to the rectum. Research suggests 90% of serotonin (the neurotransmitter that regulates mood, cognition, reward, learning, memory) is formed in our stomach.

In a session

Each session is unique and varies based on each client’s particular needs and current physical/emotional well-being. We’ll discuss different layers and areas of physical and mental health, and dive into the psycho-somatic narrative to see what and where could be improved upon or unblocked.

Sessions can be more traditionally structured or can be guided with Shamanic Energy Medicine as we open an invitation to work along the bridge between the seen and the unseen.

I am trained for safe space holding in both practices and many realms for transmuting energy.
